The York University Co-operative Daycare Centre (YUCDC), located in Atkinson Residence on the Keele campus has served the York community for over 41 years. We offer an Early Learning and Care program which is licensed for 119 children between the ages of six weeks and 10 years. Effective Jan. 1, 2011, the daily fees are $52.19 for an infant; $45.70 for a toddler; $39.49 for a preschooler; $21.60 for a school age (before and after school) to $30.13 for school age (spring break, PD days, summer camp). You are expected to pay these fees at the beginning of each month for the current month. When you enrol, please ask about the monthly membership fee and the deposit. Parents are also required to do one hour’s participation per week per child or choose a buyout option. The centre has a Purchase of Service Agreement with the City of Toronto that permits it to accept subsidized children. Priority is given to children of students, staff and faculty of the York University, then children from the surrounding community This centre is licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and we have Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) on staff. Our playgrounds undergo a safety audit annually and delicious meals are prepared on the premises, meeting the Canada Food Guide. Optional Martial Arts program is offered to preschoolers for a nominal fee. An application form may be downloaded from our Web site.
