School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design – York-Sheridan Joint Degree-Diploma Program in Film and Media Arts

This joint program provides opportunities for students in York’s Department of Film Honours degree programs and Sheridan’s Media Arts Program to earn an Honours degree and a CAAT diploma in five years. The joint program can be pursued in the following ways:

  • York Department of Film BFA Honours students concentrating in production may, after three years (90 credits) at York, apply to study for two years (four semesters) in the Media Arts diploma program at the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
  • Sheridan students in the Media Arts program who have completed three years of approved diploma program courses with a minimum B average may, after three years of study at Sheridan, apply to enter the York BA or BFA Honours programs in Film and complete an Honours degree in two years.
