Italian

The best preparation for teaching Italian is a BA degree or an equivalent Honours degree in Italian. Courses are to be chosen in consultation with a Faculty of Education adviser and/or the subject course director.

As a first teaching subject, you must complete 36 credits as follows: 12 credits in language and 12 credits in literature. The remaining 12 Italian credits must be completed at the 3000- or 4000-year level. 24 credits in the teaching subject area must be completed prior to enrolling in Semester 1 and 2 ED/IT 4000 3.00 and ED/IT 4001 3.00.

As a second teaching subject, you must complete 18 credits: 12 credits in language and six credits in literature. The remaining six Italian credits must be completed at the 3000- or 4000-year level prior to enrolling in Semester 3 ED/IT 3000 3.00.

Spanish

The best preparation for teaching Spanish is a BA degree or an equivalent Honours degree in Spanish. Courses can be chosen in consultation with a Faculty of Education adviser if necessary.

As a first teaching subject, you must complete 36 credits as follows: candidates will complete 12 credits in language and 12 credits in literature. The remaining 12 Spanish credits must be completed at the 3000- or 4000-year level. 24 credits in the teaching subject area must be completed prior to enrolling in ED/SPAN 4000 3.00 and ED/SPAN 4001 3.00.

As a second teaching subject, you must complete 18 credits: candidates will complete 12 credits in language and six credits in literature. The remaining six Spanish credits must be completed at the 3000- or 4000-year level prior to enrolling in Semester 3 ED/SPAN 3000 3.00.
