Faculty of Education (ED) – Drama

The best preparation for teaching drama is a BA or BFA in theatre. Courses may be chosen in consultation with a Faculty of Education adviser and/or the subject course director if necessary.

Intermediate/Senior

As a first teaching subject, you must complete at least four full-year (or equivalent) courses from the teaching subject area (18 credits of the 36 must be studio courses in drama) prior to enrolling in Semester 1 and 2 ED/DRAA 4000 3.00 and ED/DRAA 4001 3.00.

As a second teaching subject, you must complete the three full-year ((or equivalent) 12 credits in studio and 6 credit course at the 3000 or 4000 level) from the teaching subject area prior to enrolling in Semester 3 and 4 ED/DRAA 4000 3.00 and ED/DRAA 4001 3.00.

Junior/Intermediate

As your teaching subject you must complete a total of 24 credits. 12 credits of studio courses in drama and 12 credits need to be completed at the 3000 or 4000 level prior to enrolling in Semester 3 ED/DRAA 3000 3.00.
