Italian The best preparation for teaching Italian is a BA degree or an equivalent Honours degree in Italian. Courses are to be chosen in consultation with a Faculty of Education adviser and/or the subject course director. First Teaching Subject Candidates must complete 36 credits as follows: 12 credits in language, such as: AP/IT 2000 6.00 12 credits in literature, such as: The remaining 12 Italian credits must be completed at the 3000- or 4000-year level. Second Teaching Subject Of the 24 credits needed: 12 credits in language, such as: AP/IT 2000 6.00 Six credits in literature, such as: The remaining six Italian credits must be completed at the 3000- or 4000-year level. Spanish The best preparation for teaching Spanish is a BA degree or an equivalent Honours degree in Spanish. Courses can be chosen in consultation with a Faculty of Education adviser if necessary. First Teaching Subject Candidates must complete 36 credits as follows: Candidates will complete 12 credits in language, such as: AP/SP 1000 6.00 Candidates will complete an additional 12 credits in literature, such as: GL/SP 1530 6.00 The remaining 12 Spanish credits at the 3000- or 4000-year level. Second Teaching Subject Of the 24 credits needed: Candidates will complete 12 credits in language, such as: AP/SP 1000 6.00 Candidates will complete an additional six credits in literature, such as: GL/SP 1530 6.00 The remaining six Spanish credits at the 3000- or 4000-year level.
