Psychology
Admission to all 2000-, 3000- and 4000-level
courses in psychology (with the exception of AK/AS/SC/PSYC 2020
6.0, AK/AS/SC/PSYC 2021 3.0, and AK/AS/SC/PSYC 2022 3.0) is conditional
upon satisfactory completion of AK/AS/SC/PSYC 1010 6.0.
Students must obtain a minimum grade of C (4.0)
in AK/AS/SC/PSYC 1010 6.0 to be permitted to continue as a major
or minor in psychology, as well as to take any further psychology
courses for which AK/AS/SC/PSYC 1010 6.0 is a prerequisite. Under
exceptional circumstances, non-major/minors who have not obtained
a minimum grade of C (4.0) in AK/AS/SC/PSYC 1010 6.0 may apply
for special consideration to enrol in an upper-level psychology
course for which AK/AS/SC/PSYC 1010 6.0 is a prerequisite. This
application should be made to the psychology undergraduate program
director of the Faculty offering the course.
Specialized Honours BA Program
Students must complete at least 54 (but not
more than 60) credits in psychology. These must include:
- AS/PSYC 1010 6.0 (with a minimum grade of
C);
- AS/PSYC 2020 6.0 (or equivalent);
- AS/PSYC 2030 3.0;
- at least six credits from the AS/PSYC 2100/3100
series;
- at least six credits from the AS/PSYC 2200/3200
series;
- one of AS/PSYC 3010 3.0 or AS/PSYC 3030 6.0
or AS/PSYC 3090 3.0;
- AS/PSYC 4000 6.0 or AS/PSYC 4170 6.0;
- at least six additional credits in psychology
courses at the 4000 level.
Note 1: In any given year the department may
list other courses that may satisfy the AK/AS/SC/PSYC 3010 3.0
through AK/AS/SC/PSYC 3090 3.0 requirement.

Honours BA Program
Students must complete at least 42 (but not
more than 48) credits in psychology. These must include:
- AS/PSYC 1010 6.0 (with a minimum grade of
C);
- AS/PSYC 2020 6.0 (or equivalent);
- AS/PSYC 2030 3.0;
- at least three credits chosen from: AS/PSYC
2110 3.0, AS/PSYC 2120 3.0, AS/PSYC 2130 3.0, AS/PSYC 3140 3.0,
AS/PSYC 3170 3.0 (formerly AS/PSYC 3440 3.0);
- at least three credits chosen from: AS/PSYC
2210 3.0, AS/PSYC 2220 3.0, AS/PSYC 2230 3.0, AS/PSYC 2240 3.0,
AS/PSYC 3260 3.0, AS/PSYC 3265 3.0, AS/PSYC 3270 3.0;
- AS/PSYC 4000 6.0 or AS/PSYC 4170 6.0;

Honours Double Major BA Program
The Honours BA program described above may be
pursued jointly with any other Honours bachelor's degree program
in the Faculties of Arts, Environmental Studies, or Fine Arts.
Honours Double Major Interdisciplinary BA Programs
Psychology may be linked with any Honours Double
Major Interdisciplinary BA program in the Faculty of Arts. Students
must complete at least 36 credits (but not more than 48 credits)
in psychology and at least 36 credits in the interdisciplinary
program. Courses taken to meet psychology requirements cannot also
be used to meet the requirements of the interdisciplinary program.
Students in these interdisciplinary programs must take a total
of at least 18 credits at the 4000 level, including at least six
credits in psychology and six credits in the interdisciplinary
program. For further details of requirements, see the listings
for specific Honours Double Major Interdisciplinary BA programs.
The 36 credits in psychology must include:
- AS/PSYC 1010 6.0 (with a minimum grade of
C);
- AS/PSYC 2020 6.0 (or equivalent);
- AS/PSYC 2030 3.0;
- at least three credits chosen from: AS/PSYC
2110 3.0, AS/PSYC 2120 3.0, AS/PSYC 2130 3.0, AS/PSYC 3140 3.0,
AS/PSYC 3170 3.0 (formerly AS/PSYC 3440 3.0);
- at least three credits chosen from: AS/PSYC
2210 3.0, AS/PSYC 2220 3.0, AS/PSYC 2230 3.0, AS/PSYC 2240 3.0,

Honours Major/Minor BA Program
The Honours BA program described above may be
pursued jointly with any Honours Minor bachelor's degree program
in the Faculties of Arts, Environmental Studies, Fine Arts, or
with a minor in biology, chemistry, or physics and astronomy in
the Faculty of Pure and Applied Science.
Honours Minor BA Program
The Honours Minor must be pursued jointly with
an Honours BA program in the Faculty of Arts.
The Honours Minor in psychology comprises at
least 30 (but not more than 36) credits in psychology. These must
include AS/PSYC 1010 6.0 (with a minimum grade of C) and six credits
at the 4000 level.

Note 2: Faculty of Arts legislation requires
that, in order to obtain an Honours BA (120 credits), students
must take a total of at least 18 credits at the 4000 level, including
at least 12 credits at the 4000 level in each Honours major or
Specialized Honours major.
BA Program
Students must complete at least 30 (but not
more than 36) credits in psychology including at least 12 credits
in psychology courses at the 3000 level. These must include:
- AS/PSYC 1010 6.0 (with a minimum grade of
C);
- AS/PSYC 2021 3.0 (or equivalent);
- AS/PSYC 2030 3.0;
- at least three credits chosen from: AS/PSYC
2110 3.0, AS/PSYC 2120 3.0, AS/PSYC 2130 3.0, AS/PSYC 3140 3.0,
AS/PSYC 3170 3.0 (formerly AS/PSYC 3440 3.0);
- at least three credits chosen from: AS/PSYC
