Eligibility for Transfer Credit

Applicants who present accredited postsecondary studies and meet York's admission requirements may be eligible for transfer credit consideration. The amount of credit granted depends on the academic content of the program completed, the grades received, and the program to which the student has applied to at York. Eligibility for transfer credit consideration is automatically assessed after the candidate has been admitted and booked an enrolment appointment. A separate application is not required. In order for the Office of Admissions to assess a student's eligibility for transfer credit, it needs detailed course descriptions for any academic studies completed outside of Canada or the United States at an accredited college or university. However, it is helpful to submit detailed course descriptions of postsecondary academic work completed in the United States in the intended major. These course descriptions must be prepared by the former institution or be available on the institution's Web site. Please provide the exact URL or print out the course descriptions from the Web site.
