Candidates will take eight practicum (PKIN) courses; one each from the six core areas, plus two electives from any area. The six core areas include: aquatics (200), team sports (300), individual and dual sports (400), dance/gymnastics (500), track and field (600) and emergency care (700).
Junior/intermediate or Second Teaching Subject
Candidates must complete a total of 24 credits as follows: nine introductory credits in kinesiology, with the remaining kinesiology credits above the 1000-year level. Six credits must be taken at the 3000- or 4000-year level.
First Teaching Subject
Candidates must complete a total of 36 credits as follows: nine introductory credits in kinesiology, with the remaining kinesiology credits above the 1000-year level. 18 credits must be taken at the 3000- or 4000-year level. 24 credits in the teaching subject area must be completed prior to enrolling in ED/PHED 3051 6.00.
