School of Arts and Letters Program Requirements BA: 90 credits General education requirements: 24 credits including:
Required credits outside the major: 18 credits. Major: 30 credits in history including: (i) six credits chosen from North America (Canada and the US). (ii) six credits chosen from one of the following areas of concentration:
At least 12 credits in the major must be at the 3000 level or above. Upper-level courses: The 90 credits above must include at least 18 credits at the 3000 level or above including at least 12 credits in the major at the 3000 level or above. Residency requirement: At least 30 credits not used toward another academic program are to be taken at York University. Half the major credits must be taken through Atkinson. Graduation: Students must pass at least 90 credits that meet Atkinson degree and program requirements. The cumulative grade point average for all courses must be at least 4.00. BA Specialized Honours: 120 credits General education requirements: 24 credits including:

Upper-level courses: Of the 120 credits a minimum of 36 credits must be taken at the 3000 level or above including at least 18 credits at the 4000 level.
