Eligibility for Advanced Standing (Transfer Credit)

Applicants who present accredited postsecondary studies and meet York's admission requirements may be eligible for advanced standing or transfer credit consideration. The amount of credit granted depends on the academic content of the program completed, the grades received, and the program to which the student has applied to at York. Eligibility for transfer credit consideration is automatically assessed when applications are processed. A separate application is not required. Institutionally-prepared, detailed course descriptions are required for all academic work completed outside of Canada or the US at the postsecondary level. While not required for postsecondary education done in the US, detailed descriptions of postsecondary academic work completed in the intended major would be helpful.
