York International
York
International, the International Education Office of York University,
serves as the academic bridge to develop and enhance international
scholarly activities. Such activities include: promotion and participation
in international education (curriculum, exchanges and study abroad);
support for international students at the University; identification
and support for international research, scholarly opportunities
and institutional linkages; liaison between York and other universities
and various government, public and private organizations in Canada
and abroad.
York
International administers over 40 university-wide exchange programs
with universities in all regions of the world. Workshops and programs
with both an academic and a non-academic focus are offered to all
international students throughout the year. Several publications
and a comprehensive Web site are available to assist new and returning
York students and the York community.
The
office also maintains an International Resource Centre that includes
multi-media information on universities world-wide and study and
work abroad opportunities. Several international magazines and newsletters
are also available. The Centre, located in 107 Vanier College, is
open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 10 am to 3 pm.
