Honours Science

This BSc Honours program has no declared major. It is appropriate for a student who wishes to enrol in a broader range of courses at the 3000 and 4000 levels than can normally be undertaken in Specialized Honours, Honours Double Major or Honours Major/Minor programs.

To declare Honours Science requires successful completion of at least 24 credits and a minimum cumulative credit-weighted grade point average of 5.0 over all courses completed (subject to the exception in the note below), and permission of the Faculty Honours Science adviser. The candidate is expected to provide a rationale for this choice of program and a study plan.

To proceed in each year of the Honours Science program requires a minimum cumulative credit-weighted grade point average of 5.0 over all courses completed (subject to the exception in the note below), and permission of the Faculty Honours Science adviser.

To graduate in the Honours Science program requires successful completion of the Faculty 1000-level requirements (see general regulation 4 in Science section IV) and the Faculty Honours requirements (see general regulation 6 in Science section IV) excluding the major requirement, and a minimum cumulative credit-weighted grade point average of 5.0 over all courses completed, subject to the exception in the note below.

Note: Students admitted to York University prior to 1999-2000 may declare Honours and proceed and graduate in Honours programs according to the academic standards of the year in which they were admitted.
