Visual Arts

BA Major - 42 Credits in Visual Arts:

21 credits in practicum courses including:

• 9 credits representing three different media disciplines taken within the first two years of study;
• 6 credits at the 3000 level;

21 credits in studies courses, including:

• FA/VISA 1000 3.0;
• FA/VISA 1110 6.0 or FA/VISA 1340 6.0 or FA/VISA 2620 6.0;
• 6 credits at the 3000 level.

Honours Majors

Students must complete the requirements of the BA Honours degree or the BFA Honours degree.

BA Honours Major (Art History) - 54 Credits:

• A minimum of 6 credits in practicum courses;

A minimum of 36 credits in studies courses, including:

• FA/VISA 1110 6.0 or FA/VISA 1340 6.0 or FA/VISA 2620 6.0;
• At least 9 credits at the 3000 level;
• At least 12 credits at the 4000 level;
• At least 24 of the 51 credits must be at the 3000 or 4000 level.

BFA Honours Major (Studio) - 66 Credits:

36 credits in practicum courses, including:

• 9 credits representing three different media disciplines taken within the first two years of study;
• a minimum of 12 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level;

30 credits in studies courses, including:

• FA/VISA 1000 3.0 or FA/VISA 1040 3.0;
• FA/VISA 1110 6.0 or FA/VISA 1340 6.0 or FA/VISA 2620 6.0;
• FA/VISA 3001 3.0;
• At least 24 of the 66 credits must be at the 3000 or 4000 level.

Honours Minor (Art History) - 30 Credits:

• FA/VISA 1110 6.0 or FA/VISA 1340 6.0 or FA/VISA 2620 6.0;
• 6 credits in art history at each of the 2000, 3000 and 4000 levels;
• 6 additional credits in art history.

Honours Minor (Studio) - 30 credits:

• 18 studio credits including 6 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level;
• 12 studies credits including FA/VISA 1000 3.0, and one of FA/VISA 1110 6.0, FA/VISA 1340 6.0 or FA/VISA 2620 6.0.
