The Intermediate/Senior program qualifies candidates to teach
in grades 7 to 12/OAC. It may be taken only in conjunction with
an Honours degree academic program, and over a period of three or
four years of coregistration. By Ontario College of Teachers' regulations,
all candidates in the I/S program must prepare themselves to teach
two subjects at the I/S levels. Candidates may choose their I/S
division subjects from the following list:

* Science General is not available at the Intermediate/Senior
level to those selecting Biology, Chemistry or Physics as a teaching
subject.
Some of the above subjects (e.g. Dance, Music, Drama, Computer
Science, Spanish, Economics) depending on numbers may only be available
through Independent Study Courses. Teacher candidates should discuss
the possibility and appropriateness of such courses with their advisers
by February 1 of the Education 1 year.
When selecting their two teaching subjects, candidates should
note the academic requirements for each subject and the prerequisites
for particular practicum seminars. They should also take into account
that not all courses are offered every year.
For the Junior/Intermediate program a minimum of 18 credits in
a subject must be taken in order to register in that subject practicum/seminar.
A candidate requires a minimum of 24 credits in the teaching subject
in order to graduate.
For the Intermediate/Senior program a minimum of 24 credits in
the subject area must be taken in order to register in that subject
practicum/seminar. A candidate requires a minimum of 36 credits
in one teaching subject area and 24 credits in the other area to
graduate.
Academic courses should be taken according to the following patterns.
(Note that Glendon, Atkinson or other equivalents may be designated
by one's adviser.)
