Social and Political Thought

Note: For purposes of meeting program requirements, all Foundations courses will count as 6 credits towards the major.

Honours Double Major Interdisciplinary BA Program

The Social and Political Thought program is an Honours Double Major Interdisciplinary BA program. The program is housed in the Division of Social Science. Social and Political Thought majors must comajor in another department/discipline in the Faculty of Arts. Students must take at least 36 credits in the Social and Political Thought program and at least 36 credits in the comajor according to the requirements and regulations specified by each department/discipline for an Honours Double Major Interdisciplinary BA program. Courses taken to meet Social and Political Thought requirements cannot also be used to meet the requirements of the departmental/divisional major. Students in these Interdisciplinary programs must take a total of at least 18 credits at the 4000 level, including at least 6 credits in Social and Political Thought and 6 credits in the departmental/divisional major. The 36 credits in Social and Political Thought must include the following:

  • AS/SOSC 2550 6.0 or AS/SOSC 2570 9.0
  • 30 credits chosen from the Social and Political Thought program list of courses.

Programs of study are to be arranged in consultation with the program coordinator.
