Information Technology and Applied Mathematics

Specialized Honours BA Program

Students must complete at least 102 credits, including:

  • The Program Core;
  • AS/ITEC 2021 3.0;
  • AS/ITEC 4010 3.0;
  • AS/ITEC 4020 3.0;
  • AS/MATH 1013 3.0 (preferred, and is a degree credit exclusion for AS/MATH 1300 3.0 in the Program Core);
  • AS/MATH 1014 3.0;
  • AS/MATH 1025 3.0;
  • AS/MATH 2015 3.0;
  • AS/MATH 2222 3.0;

Choose from one of the following sets of courses:

    • Set (1): AS/MATH 2030 3.0; AS/MATH 3170 6.0; AS/MATH 4170 6.0; or
    • Set (2): AS/MATH 2270 3.0; AS/MATH 3241 3.0; AS/MATH 3242 3.0; AS/MATH 4141 3.0; AS/MATH 4142 3.0;
  • An additional 12 credits from the list of Group C courses.

Students must take a minimum of 36 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level including 18 credits at the 4000 level. Of the 18 credits at the 4000 level, 6 credits must be taken in Information Technology (ITEC), 6 credits must be taken in Mathematics (MATH) and 6 credits must be taken from the list of Group B or Group C courses.

Note: The Faculty of Arts elective requirement is fulfilled upon successful completion of 18 credits from the list of Group B or Group C courses.

Note: Faculty of Arts legislation requires that, in order to obtain an Honours BA (120 credits), students must take a total of at least 18 credits at the 4000 level, including at least 12 credits at the 4000 level in each Honours Major or Specialized Honours Major.
