Health and Society
Note: For purposes of meeting program requirements, all Foundations
courses will count as 6 credits towards the major.
Honours Double Major Interdisciplinary BA
Program
The Health and Society program is an Honours Double Major Interdisciplinary
BA program. The program is housed in the Division of Social Science.
Health and Society majors must comajor in another department/discipline
in the Faculty of Arts. Students must take at least 36 credits in
the Health and Society program and at least 36 credits in the comajor
according to the requirements and regulations specified by each
department/discipline for an Honours Double Major Interdisciplinary
BA program. Courses taken to meet Health and Society requirements
cannot also be used to meet the requirements of the departmental/divisional
major. Students in these Interdisciplinary programs must take a
total of at least 18 credits at the 4000 level, including at least
6 credits in Health and Society and 6 credits in the departmental/divisional

Students must take 36 credits from the Health and Society program
Course List including: AS/SOSC 2110 6.0; AS/SOSC 4140 6.0; 6 additional
Social Science credits; and 18 credits from the approved list, of
which 12 credits must be outside the major department. Students
interested in this program should arrange their course selection
in consultation with the program coordinator.
Course offerings may vary from year to year and students are advised
to consult the Social Science supplemental calendar or the program
coordinator for the most recent course and program information.
Note: Students may take courses through Atkinson and Glendon (subject
to degree credit exclusion and in-Faculty regulations) by permission
of the Health and Society program.
